Shogo was born and raised in Sapporo, Japan. He acquired his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Tohoku University under the supervision of Prof. Yoshiharu Iwabuchi, where he worked on the development of new reactions based on catalytic oxidative phenol couplings. In June 2023, Shogo moved to UIUC and joined the Sarlah group as a postdoctoral fellow, where he researches the field of total synthesis of bioactive natural products and methodology development.
