Francesco was born and raised near Milan, Italy. He earned his Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Milan. After graduation, he pursued and obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Milan under the supervision of Prof. M.L. Gelmi, where he worked on synthesis of non-natural amino acid During his Ph.D., he also spent six months at the University of Manchester under the supervision of Prof. Daniele Leonori. After completing his Ph.D., he obtained a postdoctoral position at the University of Padua, where he worked on asymmetric catalysis under the supervision of Prof. Manuel Orlandi In August 2024, he joined the Sarlah group as a postdoctoral fellow.
