Born and grew up in China, Zhaochen received his B.S. in chemistry from Peking University. His undergraduate research, supervised by Professor Zhi-xiang Yu, mainly focused on methodology of transition-metal catalyzed cycloaddition, where he gradually developed his interest in synthetic organic chemistry. In fall 2022, Zhaochen joined the Sarlah group and started working on natural product total synthesis. In his free time, Zhaochen likes playing table tennis and board games.
