Zohaib was born in Brooklyn, New York, but was raised in the Bay Area, California. Due to the worsening drought, he decided to flee to Michigan to pursue his B.S. in Chemistry at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. There he conducted research on melt-cast energetic materials with Professor Adam Matzger and MOF supported homogeneous catalysts with Professor Melanie Sanford. Zohaib joined the Sarlah Group in 2018 where he began work on transition metal catalyzed methods development. In his free time Zohaib likes to knit hats, eat nachos, dream about his future cat (Waffles), and periodically walk over to the gym.
