Daniel was born in Waukegan IL and moved to Hopkinton, MA at age 11. He obtained his B.S. from SUNY University at Buffalo where he began research with Troy Wood on the analysis of soybean metabolites by Leaf Spray Ionization Mass Spectrometry, followed by work with Dr. Steven Diver on the total Synthesis of Nannocystin A. During his Junior and Senior year breaks from classes, Daniel worked as a laboratory technician at Metro International Biotech in Worcester, MA. Currently, Daniel works in the Sarlah group on the functionalization of natural products to enhance their biological activity. In his free time, Daniel enjoys running, fencing, DIY projects around his house, and making terrible, terrible puns.
