B.S. Chemistry, University of Chicago
Amanda was raised in the city of Garden Grove in southern California then attended the University of Chicago and received a B.S. in chemistry with a minor in statistics. While at UChicago, she worked for Professor Scott A. Snyder on a couple of projects in total synthesis, including one on Manginoid A. Instead of returning to sunny California, she stayed in the Midwest joining the Sarlah group at UIUC where she continues to work on the total synthesis of natural products through the frigid winters. During her off-time, Amanda enjoys baking macarons, crocheting amigurumi and catching pokemon.
